Arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal – April 1, 2023

Arrived in Kathmandu tired and elated after 38 hours of travel. I was fortunate to sit next to some really interesting people on all my flights. I was so excited, I couldn’t help but share my journey with them. I used AirTags in my luggage for the very first time since I was traveling with thousands of dollars of mountaineering gear. It was cool to see where my bags were at any given time but it did give me a little scare. When I arrived in Nepal, my app was showing one bag in Kathmandu and the other in Doha. Apparently, it took the app an additional 10 minutes for my second bag to register and it was in Nepal, too. I took a big sigh of relief.

We are staying at the iconic Yak and Yeti Hotel where all the famous climbers have stayed. Now, I’m waiting for the rest of my team to arrive – including Floyd!
