After another full breakfast, we gathered outside of our tea house for a team cheer created by Misha and led by Mary Beth, to the beat of Queen’s “We will we will rock you:”
Any Mountain
We Can Do It!
Any Mountain
Let’s get to it!
Any Mountain
High in the Sky
Any Mountain
Join the climb!
We started the trek with a climb out of Dingboche. The character of the terrain changed and the starkness of the high alpine landscape became clear. At noon, we arrived at our lunch spot and had a meal of pasta with vegetables and ginger tea. Following lunch, we had a steep climb up to a famous memorial that honors the many Sherpa who lost their lives in the high mountains. Our path continued along the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier and ended at the settlement of Loboche at 16,174ft. For many of us, it was the highest altitude we had ever been to and the affects of altitude became real. Some of us felt a spacey feeling like your body was taken over by aliens.
Hi…my friend Pam is on your team. Her mom Ilajean is my friend and neighbor. Hi Pam…..go get em…Be safe. Have fun. Enjoy the trek. Safety for all. With love….Joe….
I know you are out of the world news loop. But here in the rest of the world all our bodes actually ARE being taken over by aliens…
