I wanted to give a special thanks to Mark Postle an endurance and mountaineering coach with Evoke Endurance who helped make our trek a success. Mark prepared a detailed plan for the Any Mountain Everest Team to provide structure and guidance to our training. He held zoom meetings to educate us on what we could expect from the trek and how to prepare mentally and physically for the challenges we would encounter. Given that many of us were coming into this challenge with varying levels of experience, he helped tailor the program to fit our individual needs.
Mary Beth utilized Mark’s coaching for six months to prepare for her climb of Aconcagua and Everest. One piece of advice is still ringing in MB’s ear – you will get sick in this expedition and with time and self care you will persevere. There is plenty of time to overcome an illness and successfully reach the summit.
Thank you Mark and Evoke Endurance!
Speaking of illness, I’m feeling better and did a walk around basecamp without coughing up a lung. Tomorrow I will be doing some training using the ascender and ATC device which will be a good refresher for the icefield.
Not only do you have perseverance.. you have grit!!
(and kitten videos) Looking good… keep the updates coming.
